Danica Patrick is the first woman nominated for SpeedTV's Driver of the Year Award. With an exciting month of racing capped off by Patrick becomes the breakthrough driver for the fans.
The list of nominated drivers include Jimmie Johnson (NASCAR), Greg Biffle (Nascar), John Force (NHRA), Steve Kinser (World of Outlaws) and of course everyones favorite Danica Patrick.

The voting process described is unique in the world of auto racing and provides fans a method of sharing their opinion in awarding the honor. At the end of the year a special, separate, vote will be held for the SPEED Channel 2005 Driver of the Year.
